 BEN FRANKLIN’S RIVERBENDREVIEW STUDENT PUBLICATION 
NAMED CROWN FINALIST
 
Ben Franklin High Schooland Head of School, Dr. Patrick Widhalm are proud to announce that the RiverbendReview student publication of art and literature has been selected as aCrown Award finalist by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.  
 
Sixty print magazines andseven hybrid magazines were chosen as Finalists for the CSPA Crown Awards to bepresented in March 2017 at ceremonies in New York City.  The magazineswere published during the 2015-16 academic year.
The Crown Awards honor topstudent publications chosen from CSPA’s members.  Crowns are selected foroverall excellence in a head-to-head comparison. Student publishing in news,magazine, yearbook or digital (online) formats are all eligible.  DuringCrown consideration, publications are judged on their excellence as shown bytheir design, photography, concept, coverage and writing. A total of 1,190publications were eligible for judging.
Crown Finalists are notnominees but actual winners. Some will be announced as Gold Crowns; the restare Silver Crowns. Final results will be announced and presented at the CSPAceremonies in March 2017.
The Riverbend Review hasbeen recognized twenty-two times previously.  
2016 has also seen thepublication of the Ben Franklin Paddle Wheeler, the school’s first publicationof alumni art and literature.
