LouisianaConnections Academy, a statewide provider of free high-quality, highlyaccountable virtual K-12 schooling, has opened enrollment for the 2016-2017school year. The school invites prospective families to attend in-personinformation sessions to learn more at an upcoming information session inMetairie. The information sessions will review the school’s curriculum,programs and provide opportunities for interested families to ask questions ofteachers and currently enrolled families.

Since2013, LACA has increased its School Performance Score in the state report cardresulting in a six-year extension of its charter by the Louisiana Department ofEducation. DOE graded Louisiana Connections Academy as the top academicperforming virtual school among schools offering an online curriculum. 
 
Accordingto a survey, 38 percent of families who chose to enroll at LACA felt the needfor an alternative local public school and 96 percent of all LACA parents wouldrecommend the school to other families.
 
The top reasons parentschoose a virtual charter, like LACA, for their children, according to Ms.Centanni, are:  
·      The student requires orwants greater flexibility;
·      The student wants a change from their localschool;
·      The student wants a safe learning environment.
 
"Sometimesstudents need a break from the traditional brick-and-mortar setting and findthat a virtual public charter school can help them catch up or take a breakfrom the day-to-day peer pressures of school," said Ms. Centanni. "Weprovide a change of mindset."
 
More thana quarter of a million American students in grades K-12 get their educationvirtually. Louisiana Connections Academy is open to students from every parishin Louisiana.











































































The school recently opened its new headquarters in Baton Rouge at 4664Jamestown Ave. but enrollment is open to students throughout the state This isa free, public online school charter school.
