Audubon Charter School Names LatoyeBrown CEO/Principal
InterimPrincipal will take reigns as permanent leader
 
Audubon Charter School is pleased to announce theappointment of Interim Principal Latoye Brown as the new CEO/Principal of theschool.  Ms. Brown was officially andunanimously named the new leader at the French and Montessori Education (FAME)Board of Directors Meeting on June 4.
 
Ms. Brown was chosen after an eight-month search was narroweddown to three final candidates.  EducationalDirections, Inc. led the nationwide search process.
 
“We are thrilled with the appointment of Ms. Latoye A. Brownas CEO/Principal of Audubon Charter School,” said Derek D. Bardell, Chairman ofthe FAME Board of Audubon Charter School.  “We, as a governing board, areexcited to see what the future holds for Audubon and the greater possibilitiesLatoye Brown will afford us. Ms. Brown’s background in business and educationmake her the ideal leader to elevate Audubon to the next level of excellence.”
 

Ms. Brown started her career as a teacher at SingletonCharter School and A.P. Tureaud.  AtTureaud, she also served as a Math Coach, Small Learning Community Leader and MasterTeacher. In 2010, she became Assistant Principal of Benjamin Mays PreparatorySchool and in 2013 became Assistant Principal at Audubon Charter School.  Ms. Brown most recently served as Audubon’s InterimCEO/Principal at Audubon for nine months. A graduate of Ben Franklin High School, Ms. Brown graduated from Xavier Universityand received an MBA and Master of Education from UNO. She is currently a Ph. Dcandidate as well. 
 
Audubon Charter School is an “A” ranked, “Top Gains” schoolwith a dual French and Montessori program.  Serving two campuses Uptown, Audubon is anAssociate Member of the American Montessori Society, accredited by the FrenchMinistry of Education and member of AEFE (Agency for French Teaching inAmerica).  Audubon Charter consistentlyis ranked as one of the top schools in the city.
