LOUISIANA CONNECTIONS ACADEMY OPENS ENROLLMENT
FOR 2016-2017 SCHOOL YEAR

Louisiana ConnectionsAcademy, a statewide provider of free high-quality, highly accountable virtualK-12 schooling, is opening enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year beginning March1, said Parent Outreach Manager Shelly Centanni.
Parents can enroll their childonline at: http://www.LouisianaConnectionsAcademy.com.
“We encourage all prospectivefamilies to enroll their children now,” said Ms. Centanni. “Spots are limitedacross all grades so enrolling as soon as possible gives your child the bestchance at confirming their spot in our school.”
Since 2013, LACA has increased itsSchool Performance Score in the state report card resulting in a six-yearextension of its charter by the Louisiana Department of Education. DOE gradedLouisiana Connections Academy as the top academic performing virtual schoolamong schools offering an online curriculum.
According to a survey, 38 percent offamilies who chose to enroll at LACA felt the need for an alternative localpublic school and 96 percent of all LACA parents would recommend the school toother families.
Interested familiescan attend virtual information sessions hosted by Louisiana Connections Academyby registering on line. The school also advises families to check www.ConnectionsAcademy.com/LACAeventsfor updates on when future in-person information sessions and events will bescheduled. The information sessions review the school’s curriculum, programsand provide opportunities to ask questions of teachers and currently enrolledfamilies.
Thetop reasons parents choose a virtual charter, like LACA, for their children,according to Ms. Centanni, are:
·       The student requires or wants greater flexibility;
·       The student wants achange from their local school;
· The student wants a safelearning environment.
"Sometimes students need a break from thetraditional brick-and-mortar setting and find that a virtual public charterschool can help them catch up or take a break from the day-to-day peerpressures of school," said Ms. Centanni. "We provide a change ofmindset."
More than a quarter of a million Americanstudents in grades K-12 get their education virtually. Louisiana ConnectionsAcademy is open to students from every parish in Louisiana.
“We are so thankful for the opportunities my childgets to pursue thanks to the flexibility we have at LACA. I know the State ofLouisiana is supporting public education improvements, and having a virtualpublic charter school, with certified teachers, open to any student from anyparish in Louisiana has been a blessing,” said parent Brandi Robinson, ofLaplace.
