Bippo the Hippo Shows SherwoodForest Students How to Take Care of Their Teeth
 
DECEMBER 5, 2016:  Einstein Charter School Sherwood Forest students insecond and third grade learned how to take care of their teeth on Thursday.  Theirteacher was a hippo!


Bippo the Hippo, andhis guide, hosted a 45 minuteeducational program aimed at keepingstudents delightfully entertained and providing a wealth of knowledge onthe prevention of tooth decay.


The ProgramCoordinator, Ashley, read the story, "Bippo Visits the Dentist", byEdward L. Donaldson, Jr., D.D.S. while projecting pictures from the book onto alarge screen. The story took students through Bippo’s fears of going to thedentist for the very first time and realizing that it really can be fun!


Bippo the Hippo joinedthe fun to show students proper brushing and flossing techniques and tolead them in a rendition of "Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes."  Eachstudent was also given a copy of Bippo's coloring book complete with tips abouthealthy snacks and drinks to keep their teeth strong and cavity free.


The Grand Finaleconsists of Bippo the Hippo coming out to be silly with the children. He mayeven do a little dance with them!

The program was organizedthrough Bippo's Place for Smiles,a regional children's dentist practice by School Nurse Melanie Doll.
