LOUISIANA CONNECTIONS ACADEMY CHARTER TO OPENMONDAY, AUGUST 22

 
Louisiana Connections Academy Superintendent LonnieLuce said the 2016 School Year will officially begin Monday, August 22 for all2100 students enrolled at the statewide, free virtual charter school.
 
The start of school was delayed by one week due tothe magnitude of the catastrophic devastation and loss of communication causedby the recent weather in 20 parishes. The one-week delay will not impact thecompletion of studies for the 2016-2017 school year, said Dr. Luce.
 
Louisiana Connections Academy, a K-12 completelyonline public charter school, had many students and faculty members displaceddue to the recent flooding and is working to insure all have gained replacementmaterials. 
 
"All our LACA families who need replacementmaterials should have contacted our helpline at 1-800-382-6010 forassistance by now," said Dr. Luce. The school's main number is225.372.8389. “I am confident that partnered with our school community’s hardwork, this is going to be a successful school year,” added Dr. Luce.
