Morris Jeff to host 7th Annual Community Gala and Auction on Oct. 8
Event includes special performances from The Cedric Watson Trio and Colin Lake Band
 
What:		7th Annual Community Gala and Auction to benefit Morris Jeff Community School
 
When:		Thursday, October 8th, 6:30-9:30 PM 
 
Where:		The New Orleans Fairgrounds Clubhouse, 4th Floor 
			1751 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70119
 
Why:            Support Morris Jeff Community School, the only International Baccalaureate elementary school in the state of Louisiana, as they host a night full of celebration, art, and local music and food.  Funds raised will support MJCS’s early childhood programs, growing school library, and the International Baccalaureate curriculum.
 
Food will be provided by more than a dozen local eateries, including Mondo, Slice, Jaun’s Flying Burrito, Ruby Slipper Café, Pagoda Café, Theo’s, Pigeon Catering and Café Atchafalaya.
 
Dozens of items will be up for grabs in our silent auction, including specialties from: NOLA Aikido, Sweetie Pop Boutique, Peel and Company, Dinner Lab, Pearl Wine Company, Pinkberry, Archer Chiropractic, Devin de Wulf, Justin Lundgren, Bayou Adventure, and Friends of City Park. Beverages will be provided by some of New Orleans’ favorite haunts including Finn McCool’s Irish Pub, Pal’s Lounge, Purveyer of Fine Wines and Bayou Beer Garden.
 
Live music will include The Cedric Watson Trio and at 6:30pm followed by a performance from The Colin Lake Band at 8pm.
 
General admission tickets are $40 per person before Sept. 15 and $60 after, inclusive of music, food, drinks, and silent auction. About Morris Jeff Community School
Morris Jeff Community School opened in the fall of 2010 as a Type 5 open-access public charter school.  Morris Jeff serves 600 students in grades PreK-7 at its beautiful new campus in mid-city and will grow to a full Pre-K through 8th-grade school.  It is currently the only elementary school in Louisiana that is authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP).
