    INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF LOUISIANA ENDS THE YEAR WITH INTERNATIONAL SECOND LINE PARADES    
    
    Uptown, Westbank and Jefferson Campuses will celebrate cultural diversity with traditional second lines around campuses   
    
        
    WHAT:      The International School of Louisiana (ISL) will end the 2014-2015 school year with their annual International Second Line Parades at all campuses.

    The community is invited to the International Day Parades at all ISL campuses. Students, faculty and staff, will second line around the campus to the sounds of a New Orleans Brass Band including the Marine Corps Brass Band at the school’s Westbank Campus.       
    
        
    This year-end celebration is a uniquely New Orleans way to experience the essence of the ISL community and its celebration of diversity and all cultures. Students spend the last week of school studying the different nations and cultures of our world blending what they have learned with a traditional New Orleans celebration. Students will wear the colors and costumes of countries from around the world and carry countries’ flags and decorations as they second line around campus neighborhood, sharing the International experience and celebration of diversity with the local community.   
    
        
    The International School of Louisiana will hold its 8th Grade promotions this week. Uptown Campus program will be held Thursday, May 28, 5:30pm at the John P. Lyons Center and Jefferson Parish Campus program will be held on Friday, May 29, 7pm at the JW Marriott Downtown with special guest Ted Selogie, general manager of JW Marriott Hotel.   
    
        
    Dedicated to cultural diversity and global awareness, ISL (grades K-8) is the only multi-language immersion school chartered by the State of Louisiana.  From their first day of school, students are taught core academic subjects in either French or Spanish by native speaking teachers. At ISL children learn a second language naturally, through everyday conversation and classroom instruction.  Committed to breaking down barriers in public education by teaching children to embrace diversity in their community, ISL is dedicated to providing all of its students with a unique and high-quality education and to helping young people develop, not only as students but also as community leaders and global citizens.
