I’m incredibly excited to join you in celebrating the power of charter schools and raising awareness about the tremendous progress the charter school movement has made in the lives of students across the country.

Here are the activities to look forward to and ways you can be involved:
Today – Change your social media profile picture to one of our customized badges. Also stay tuned for our latest report on charter school wait lists in 10 urban school districts later today. This study demonstrates the incredible demand for charter schools and highlights the need for more public school options.
Tuesday – Thank a teacher! As we honor the great things charter schools are doing for students this week, we'll take some time to celebrate the teachers that make it all possible.
Wednesday – Join us in our #CharterSchoolsWeek tweetup! Send tweets about why you love charter schools from 12 noon - 1 p.m. CT.
Thursday – Meet this year’s Charter Champs – elected officials at the federal, state, and local levels who have worked to advance the growth and success of public charter schools.
Friday – See the winning entries of our first-ever National Charter Schools Week student essay contest. We have received submissions from students across the country and we’re excited to share their stories on our blog.
