OneApp Deadline is February 27

The Eastbank Collaborative of Charter Schools unified applications for admission for the 2015-16 school year are due at the prospective school on Friday, January 9, 2015. Schools participating in the ECCS unified application process are: Audubon Charter School, Benjamin Franklin High School, Einstein Elementary Charter and Extension, Hynes Charter School, Lake Forest Elementary Charter, Lusher Charter School, New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School “Sci High,” and Warren Easton Charter High School. All schools accept Orleans Parish students only.

“We encourage all applicants to get their applications to the schools by January 9,” said Rose Peterson, Executive Director of the Eastbank Collaborative of Charter Schools. “These applications are considered timely applications and are important for those schools requiring a lottery.”

Applications are available on each school’s website. Only timely applications will be accepted for schools requiring a lottery. Not all ECCS schools will have a lottery and may accept applications year-round. Please check the school’s website for details. Additional information may be required.

ECCS members International High School of New Orleans, International School of Louisiana, Morris Jeff Community School and Andrew Wilson Charter School are participating in the OneApp. The OneApp standard window deadline is February 27. Moton Charter School is a year round school and will not use the unified admission dates. Please check the schools’ websites for information and deadline dates.

About the Eastbank Collaborative of Charter Schools:
Following the Hurricane Katrina disaster in 2005, seven principals formed the Eastbank Collaborative of Charter Schools” – or “ECCS” – to improve school operations in areas including legal services, facilities support, financial reporting, teacher recruitment, instructional technology and group purchasing. The major goal of the cooperative is to ensure the sustainability of the charter school movement by decreasing back office costs and providing a unified voice in interactions with local, state and national agencies. Further, the ECCS strives to make the schools within the Alliance and those ancillary members more efficient and effective in their operations so that more staff time can be focused on helping each school meet academic standards and goals. Presently, thirteen schools, comprised of about 7,300 students are represented in the ECCS.

ECCS member schools do not discriminate in the rendering of services to/or employment of individuals because of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
