Dear Educators,
The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) is hosting a special two-hour workshop: Archaeology and Critical Thinking in Your History/Social Studies Classroom at the New Orleans Marriott on Saturday, January 10th at 8:30am. The workshop will highlight how teaching archaeology in your classroom enhances critical thinking and addresses Common Core literacy standards in a fun and engaging manner. Please see the attached flyer for additional information.
Participants will be given a certificate of completion at the event—please contact the AIA if your school district requires additional documentation to issue CLUs—we are happy to help!
Registration is just $30, so register now!
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to work with experts in the field! The workshop is being held in conjunction with the AIA’s two-day national working conference for archaeology educators. If you are especially interested in archaeology, we would be happy for you to join us for the entire 2-day event—more information about the conference can be found on our website.
Archaeology is exciting! We hope you will help us spread the word to your colleagues that might be interested in this event. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
Best wishes,
Meredith
