Jean Paul Hymel of New Orleans received  the Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools' Excellence in Governance Award during the LAPCS's annual conference Oct. 21 in Baton Rouge. Hymel, the volunteer board chair of Crescent City Schools, was chosen for outstanding service and dedication to Crescent City Schools, from holding the board to a high standard of excellence with compliance and financial oversight to working cooperatively with The Lens for student recruitment.
