[CharterSchools] Judge Ulysses Thibodeaux, Jay Altman on tonight's "Educating Louisiana"

On tonight’s episode of Educating Louisiana, host and LAPCS Policy Director Veronica Brooks welcomes the Honorable Judge Ulysses Thibodeaux, President of the Lake Charles Charter Academy Foundation, and Jay Altman, Founder and CEO of FirstLine Schools.


Judge Thibodeaux will discuss how he first became involved Lake Charles Charter Academy and how he finds time in his busy schedule as Chief Judge of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Additionally, Judge Thibodeaux explains his role as president of a charter governing board and the general responsibilities of the board versus those of the school leadership's.  


Jay Altman founded New Orleans Charter Middle School - the first charter school in New Orleans - in 1998. Tonight, Jay gives us his perspective on what it was like to witness the transition from a single school in the parish to Orleans now housing the nation's first all charter district with the RSD-NO. 
 
Educating Louisiana airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. on Cox Cable Station 4 in the Baton Rouge, Lafayette and New Orleans markets.
