Lake Forest Elementary Charter School Presents "Wild About Science Night"
Safari themed night includes Math and Science activities for students



When: Thursday, November 12, 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm

Who: Lake Forest Elementary Charter School Parents & Students

What: “Wild About Science” night with a Safari Theme
Sciences covered: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Earth & Space Science

Parents and students will be doing hands-on activities to improve student achievement and peak students’ interest in the sciences. All Lake Forest students will pursue a post-secondary education and this event will further their exposure to the various sciences in becoming a global learning community.

Participants:
Delta Sigma Theta, Gamma Phi Beta of Loyola University, Xavier education major volunteers, Physics coordinated by: Dr. Martin McHugh of Loyola University

Presenters:
American Red Cross – CPR
Tobacco Free Living
Audubon Zoo Mobile
Wildlife & Fisheries
NASA – Michoud (Space Science)
Wetland Express – Audubon Institute
Bug Mobile – Audubon Institute
Planetarium (Louisiana Children’s Museum) – providing a hands-on planetarium for kids to experience
American Cancer Society – asking donations of $1 from each Science Night participant. Lake Forest is heavily involved in community service for our students.
City of New Orleans Health Department – kits will be provided for flu prevention
Book give-away for Pre-K to 3rd grade student
