UPDATE FROM ALISA DUPRE, OPERATIONS MANAGER, AUDUBON CHARTER SCHOOL:

“The administration of Audubon Charter school was notified earlier today
that the student previously identified as a suspected case, has been confirmed
to have H1N1 (swine flu). Since this child was treated as a probable case
at the onset, the State Department of Health and Hospitals is not
recommending school closure. However, although this seems to be an isolated and
very mild case of the virus, out of concern for our students, staff and
faculty, Audubon will be voluntarily closed Monday through Wednesday for the school
to be sanitized. School will re-open on Thursday, May 7. Audubon
Charter School and its Board will continue working closely with the School
District and DHH to take all necessary precautions in regard to the safety and
health of our school. For additional information, go to http://www.flula.com or
call the Regional Office of Public Health at 504-599-0100.”

For more information contact Alisa Dupre, (504) 717-6255 or (504) 433-5595
or Heather Harper (504) 289-0499.
