Expert Math Instructors and their Students Share Best Practices with
Area School Leaders in “show me” Session this Wednesday
Outcomes will help boost test scores
WHO: Hynes Charter Elementary mathematic teachers and students, and Louisiana
Systematic Initiatives Program (LaSIP) participants
WHEN: Wednesday, December 17, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
WHERE: Hynes Charter Elementary School, 3774 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans
WHAT: Public, private and parochial teachers from across the state will learn
from their peers how to improve their own effectiveness regarding student
math comprehension by a hands-on learning session involving actual students
WHY: LaSIP is a state sponsored program designed to improve student results
by encouraging teachers to research, collaborate on, and test the lessons they
give in order to discern the most effective ways to teach a given topic. The
goal is to improve the effectiveness of the experience that the teachers
provide to their students through action research.
