[BIHS] Sad news about Kalpna Mistry

Dear Friends,

Our esteemed friend and colleague Kalpna Mistry, a Global Studies 
teacher at Berkeley International High School, passed away earlier this 
week and will be sorely missed.  She was working on a Fulbright Grant in 
the Philippines this summer and passed away there on August 4.  She 
received great medical care, surrounded by friends from her scholarship 
program.  She will be remembered for her dedication to education, her 
deep love of her students and her great intellect.  

The Berkeley High School Health Center has been notified and counseling 
is available at 664-6965.  We are currently in the process of setting up 
a BHS memorial service once classes begin, and Kalpna's family has 
planned a memorial service on Saturday, August 9th, in Los Altos.

The family has asked that no flowers be sent; instead a foundation has 
been set up in Kalpna's name through the Berkeley High School 
Development Group. Donations can be sent to *BHSDG, P.O. Box 519,
