[Seven Sleeping Dragons Amtgard]

Greetings Amtgarders!

As usual, SSD Amtgard will take place at Santa Rosa Park 1-4pm this
Saturday.* In addition*, it seems that our Evil Prince Lord Squire Deimos
has yet another evil plot to enact upon our Lands for the enduring spread of
goodwill, charity! *Namely*, a can food drive/ fundraiser assimilated as a
means's to participate in an Amtgard tournament. *As a result*, on the 18th
of September bring cash and canned foods to better your chances of winning
the tourney and the needy a better chance to have a proper meal. *Lastly*;
Smiley, Ronnoc, and Dasher are planning to hold an Amtgard demo at Waller
Park on the 12th of Sept (see Directions below).

*1.) September 18th Tournament Info: (Tournament style courtesy of Deimos)*

Terms of buy-in/re-buy: 3 cans of food or $1.00 per entry/re-buy

Tournament Style: Bracketed, single elimination (w/ possibility of re-buy in
the same bracket). Single short, dual short, short and board, open weapon

Re-buy rules: May utilize a re-buy to re-enter the bracket they lost in
(Exception: when the result of a fight would determined 1st through 3rd
place in a given category). If you have multiple re-buys available and sweep
a category, save them for the next category. If you sweep all the categories
and have unused re-buys...awesome! (It *is* for charity, after all). People
who lose and re-buy into that round should be placed at the bottom of the
active brackets, and have the next person who re-buys as their opponent. If
the round ends and the re-buy has no opponent, they receive a 'bye' into the
next round. (Making it a re-bye, of sorts. Stop groaning, that was good and
you know it)

*Donation Specifics: *
"Food banks typically prefer the dollar donation, as they can stretch it
farther than the average shopper. They also like canned fruit/veggies,
canned protein items (tuna, stew, chili, peanut butter, orphans), dried
beans, soup, chili, pasta, rice, cereal, baby food, formula, fruit juice,
and briefcases of money in small denominations in non-sequential number
(unmarked bills preferred)."

(Canned Food and funds will be put entirely into donations for Food Bank
Coalition of SLO http://slofoodbank.org/)

*Re-Reward?: *The land who raises the most cans/funds will be bestowed a
relic medium-shield. In SSD's case it may be something we keep if we win.






*2.) Directions to Waller Park Sept 12th Demo:* (Directions Courtesy of

>From 101 North or South: Exit Betteravia Road

If you're 101 North, turn left at the stoplight at the end of the off ramp.
If you're 101 South, turn right at the stoplight at the end of the off ramp.
Drive down Betteravia until you reach Broadway. Make a left onto Broadway
(it's a big road. When Deimos was a youngin' it was 4 lanes, he thinks it's
now 6). When you get to Waller Lane, make a right (there's a stoplight
there). Make an immediate left onto Orcutt Road. The park is rather large,
but don't panic. Last time, the demo was on the frontage road side near the
diagonal parking. If all the parking is taken up, then swing back around and
go into the park itself, there is more parking to be found.
