[SSD Populace] Fighter Practice and Quals Results

Howdy folks!

This is your friendly neighborhood Prime Minister checking in to let  
you know that we have our first off-site fighter practice in recent  
years starting up in Los Osos.  It's being held on the field of  
Baywood Elementary from 4:30 onward every Thursday.

To get to Baywood Elementary, follow Vael's wonderfully concise  
directions, starting from Highway 1 or Los Osos Valley Road:

Exit/Turn onto South Bay Blvd
Turn onto Santa Ysabel Ave
Turn left onto 11th Street
Turn right onto El Morro Ave (this takes you to the closest parking lot)

Additionally, it has been brought to my attention - repeatedly and at  
some length - that I never actually distributed the results of our  
most recent Crown Qualifications.  So, with a minimum of further ado,  
here they are.

We'll start with the fighting tournament.  There were 5 categories:  
Single Sword, Florentine, Sword and Board, Great Weapon/Polearm, and  
Open.  3 points were awarded for each win, 2 for second place, and 1  
for third.

Deimos won overall with 13 points.
Krom came in second with 6 points.
Faye came in third with 4 points.
Dasher, Sesbastion, and Vael tied for fourth place with 2 points each.
Ronnoc achieved fifth place with 1 point.

Next, the cultural results.  Each item was graded from 1 to 5 in  
increments of 0.1 by a panel of 5 judges.  3 is a basic, functional  
item, while a 5 is a perfect example of the craft represented.  The  
highest and lowest scores were dropped, and the remaining 3 scores  
were averaged.  The overall winner is determined by adding the scores  
received by the top 7 items entered by each participant.  As no  
entrant entered more than 5 items, the overall score was merely each  
entrant's item scores added together.

Cronin won with an overall score of 17.1.
Predator came in second with an overall score of 15.4.
Sebastion placed third with an overall score of 13.6.
